fives: Minuteman III

5 tracks from none other than the brains (and dashing looks) behind the Strictly Yes party that has thundered onto the Bristol techno circuit. Enjoy.

  1. New Order - Confusion (Pump Panel Reconstruction Mix)

Uncompromising acid rave which resonates strongly throughout our childhood. From Connor’s brother playing it on the Stantons to the infamous “Blood Rave” scene in Blade; a warehouse classic. The seeds which formed a strong foundation for our musical tastes today.

2. Ayarcana - Disease Control (Plukkk Remix)

Intense build up with a distressing breakbeat bass hooks and grinding metallics. One for the industrial tech-heads. A late night stomper.

3. Phase Fatale - Reverse Fall

The EBM boom has hit hard among our musical collections and has led to the discovery of many exiting artists; Thomas P Heckman, Sarin and Schwefelgelb to name a few. Riding high on that list is Phase Fatale. Reverse Fall’s progressive basslines fuse with piercing snares which guarantee to increase the intensity of any set.

4. Kas:st - Hell on earth

This track was first played by Erich when we were recording a mix at his flat. One that’s stuck with us ever since and creates that 7am feel of atmospheric closure. Kas:st are a big inspiration for us and continue to thrive in the techno scene.

5. Johannes Klaus - Hunted

Taken from Johannes’ debut EP, ‘0.01’. An acid drenched roller, bound to make your mind melt. Expect to hear this played out soon at many techno parties. A talented producer.

THANKS TO MINUTEMAN III FOR BEING THE NICEST GUYS IN TECHNO AND THROWING SOME OF THE BEST PARTIES IN BRISTOL - THE NEXT ONE IS VTSS ALL NIGHT
